The two institutions are set to jointly launch the undergraduate programme in English Language and Language Sciences at XJTU’s Hainan Campus in Lingshui, Hainan Province, China, commencing this September.

Basic Requirements

√ PhD degree in Linguistics, English/Comparative Literature, Cross‑Cultural Communication, Translation Studies, or a related field;

√ Prior overseas university teaching experience is preferred.

Major Duties

√ Conducts courses in linguistics (e.g. English Phonetics & Phonology, Introduction to Linguistics, Introduction to Neurolinguistics), language data (e.g. Introduction to Language Data, Statistics for Language Studies, Python and Language Data Processing) and literature & culture (e.g. British Culture, American Culture, Cross-cultural Communication);

√ Undertakes academic work such as curricular development, course design and thesis supervision;

√ Performs institutional services such as student academic mentoring, coaching for academic/innovation events and program promotion;

√ Produces notable position-specific teaching and/or research outcomes.
