On the afternoon of November 19, 2025, SFS's Russian and German Department held a seminar on "Structure and Content of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language: Theoretical Foundations and Practical Recommendations."

Viktoria Subbotina, a newly recruited foreign faculty member from Lomonosov Moscow State University with over twenty years of teaching experience, was invited for a presentation. During the seminar, Viktoria used real-world teaching cases to systematically analyze the essential elements of a high-quality practical Russian course. Her presentation outlined a progressive path to building engaging and efficient classrooms, covering stages from setting instructional objectives and introducing topics to conducting structured practice and reflecting on post-class learning.

To enhance classroom engagement, she proposed practical solutions such as integrating digital tools, linking course content to real-life scenarios, and encouraging students to find native-speaking language partners. She emphasized that it is crucial to ignite students' learning motivation rather than simply impart information.

The seminar vividly demonstrated "student-centered" modern teaching practices through the integration of theory and application. Faculty members in attendance noted that the diverse teaching methods presented offered valuable insights for improving the overall quality of Russian language instruction.
