1.Overview
Center for MTI (Masters of Translation and Interpreting) Education was established in 2011. It is responsible for MTI student admission, stipulation and execution of training plan, faculty training and development, dual mentorship system based on university-enterprise cooperation, teaching condition construction, student internship managementandso on.
2.Objectives
By cooperating with the leading enterprises in relevant industries, this program aims to cultivate high-level translation and interpreting talents with global vision, interdisciplinary knowledge as well as practical and professional skills to provide language services in fields of medicine, science and technology, foreign affairs and international communication, etc., so as to fulfill the comprehensive needs of the society.
3.Major directions
Currently, this program has three directions (English translation, English interpreting and Japanese interpreting) with three disciplinary emphases (medicine, science and technology and international communication).
4.Program modes
Focusing on practical abilities in translation and interpreting, this program adopts co-cultivation mode, in which supervisors of university and mentors from enterprises are both responsible for the students in making cultivation plan, arranging professional practice, guiding dissertation and so on.
5.Faculty
Our center has more than 30 experienced teachers, 24 of whom are MTI academic supervisors. Meanwhile, we are honored to have 12 experts from other renowned universities or relevant enterprises as our guest professors or industry mentors.
