On April 24, 2025, a 4-member delegation from the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) at Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI), led by Dean Chen Wenkai, visited SFS. Key attendees from the XJTU side included Chen Xiangjing, Dean of SFS; Huang Yi, Director of College English Teaching Center; and Zhang Lei, Associate Director of the English Department.

Chen Wenkai briefed the situation of ZZULI's SFL and expressed the hope to learn from XJTU's SFS in areas such as professional talent cultivation, top-tier program development, and university English course development.

Chen Xiangjing presented an overview of SFS's teaching, research, talent development, and discipline development.

Huang Yi discussed the college English curriculum, including placement tests, tiered teaching, and elective courses.

Zhang Lei introduced undergraduate program models and future trends, including credit systems, undergraduate advisors, guidance for innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, language data science exploration, and the English-Law dual degree program.

Both sides exchanged views on college English teaching reform, curriculum updates, minor programs, micro-specialties, MTI and international Chinese education initiatives.

Before the meeting, the ZZULI SFL delegation visited the Jiaotong University Westward Relocation Museum and praised XJTU's long history and achievements.
