On April 25, 2025, a delegation from the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) at Tongji University visited SFS.

The delegation included Mu Chaojing, Deputy Secretary of the SFL Party Committee; Liu Jiaxuan, Director of the Student Affairs Office; Li Weiwei, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office; and Wang Yuchen, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League (CYL) Committee of SFL.

SFS representatives at the meeting included Xu Ming, Deputy Secretary of the SFS Party Committee; Xu Yang, Deputy Secretary of the CYL Committee of SFS; and Yu Congcong, Admin of the SFS Party Committee.

At the meeting, Xu Ming welcomed the Tongji delegation.

Mu Chaojing generally introduced Tongji's SFL and outlined the visit objectives: to exchange ideas on student development, science and innovation competitions, graduate employment, and student leader cultivation.

The two sides exchanged ideas on student development and emphasized the ideological guidance's significance in student growth.

Yu Congcong shared experiences in motivating students to seek well-rounded development through role models.

Xu Yang introduced XJTU's School-College System for undergraduates and the progress under this collaborative education model.

Liu Jiaxuan and Wang Yuchen presented Tongji's new approaches to building a distinctive student community.

The discussion also covered foreign language students' participation in high-level science and innovation competitions and related incentive mechanisms, and both schools shared strategies to boost student participation and performance, such as establishing special reward funds and assigning professional instructors.

Another focus was exploring career paths for foreign language graduates, including how to leverage their potential in fields like cross-cultural communication, international business, and education technology. The discussion also covered measures to enhance graduates' employment competitiveness and expand opportunities through industry partnerships and career guidance courses.

Finally, the two sides discussed student leader selection and development, team building, and leadership skill enhancement.

After the meeting, the Tongji delegation visited the Jiaotong University Westward Relocation Museum.
