The International Conference on Country and Regional Studies of the Silk Road in Shaanxi Province, hosted by the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government and organized by Northwest University, was held in Xi'an from October 22 to 24, 2024.

The conference, themed "Jointly Seek New Approaches in Regional and Country-Specific Studies, Co-Create a New Landscape for Cultural Exchange Along the Silk Road", brought together officials, experts, and scholars from government, universities, and social research institutions to discuss the development of country and regional studies in Shaanxi Province.

The conference gathered over 100 participants, including government officials from Shaanxi Province, scholars from leading Chinese universities and research institutes, and representatives from Silk Road countries such as Iran and Central Asian nations, to discuss academic collaboration and cultural exchanges.

Professor Wang Hua from the SFS attended the conference and delivered a speech. In a parallel forum titled "Leveraging Interdisciplinary Characteristics for Country and Regional Studies", Professor Wang introduced the development and achievements of XJTU's Center for Asia-Europe Studies as a multidisciplinary platform integrating research strength from multiple schools of XJTU. He highlighted how the center leverages interdisciplinary expertise to drive innovative research in country and regional studies.
