On November 30, 2025, the annual XJTU Chinese Language Workshop for International Faculty, organized by the Department of International Cooperation & Exchanges and the School of Foreign Studies (SFS), successfully concluded. Launched in the spring semester, the workshop offered 15 sessions in total, attracting nearly 300 international faculty members from across the university.

Based on the actual living and working needs of international faculty members, the workshop adopted a parallel teaching mode of "language learning" and "cultural perception". It focused on practical topics, including daily communication, workplace interactions, health care, and more. It also integrated cultural themes such as traditional Chinese medicine and traditional festivals, as well as cultural experience activities such as calligraphy and handcrafts, aiming to improve their Chinese communication proficiency and cultural understanding.
The teaching team of the workshop comprises instructors from SFS's Center for International Education of Chinese Language and international student teaching assistants (TA) from Russia, Turkmenistan, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries. These student TAs assisted in teaching and activity organization and provided one-on-one tutoring, fostering a cross-cultural, supportive, and collaborative learning atmosphere.
The workshop attracted international faculty members from France, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, Nigeria, and other countries. It not only helps improve their Chinese language proficiency but also builds a platform for cross-cultural exchange, enhancing their sense of belonging to both the university and the city of Xi'an.
As an important measure for the university to strengthen the management and support of international faculty members and advance its internationalization drive, the workshop will keep improving on the basis of this year's experience, so as to create a better and more inclusive language and cultural learning environment for them and support the university's global development strategy.
