On November 15, 2025, the 7th Dean's Forum for Postgraduate Academic English Teaching and Research in C9 League Universities wrapped up successfully at iHarbour. The forum was hosted by XJTU's Graduate School and SFS, and co-organized by the Postgraduate English Teaching Center and Chaoxing Fanya Group.
Centering on "Postgraduate English Teaching in the Era of Universal Digital Intelligence: Status and Future", the forum explored the future directions of AI-empowered English education.
The forum's opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Wang Hua, Vice Dean of SFS. It featured keynote speeches by Professor Chen Xiangjing, Dean of SFS, and Luo Jing, Director of the Education Affairs Office of XJTU's Graduate School. More than ten experts and scholars from C9 League universities, together with industry representatives from Chaoxing Fanya Group, conducted an in-depth exchange on postgraduate education against the context of digitalization and intelligence.
In her address, Director Luo Jing underscored the pivotal role of postgraduate education, asserting that academic English serves as a vital conduit for cross-disciplinary exchanges, with its instructional quality directly impacting students' international competitiveness and innovative capacity. Subsequently, Professor Chen Xiangjing highlighted the strategic significance of AI and big data in reshaping educational ecosystems and driving pedagogical innovation essential for high-quality development.
In the keynote sessions, experts conducted in-depth discussions on the impact of digital intelligent technologies on educational governance and teaching models. They reached a consensus on strengthening inter-university collaboration to leverage AI in addressing pain points in traditional teaching, innovating AI-empowered English teaching, and laying a solid language foundation for cross-cultural academic exchanges among postgraduate students.
The success of this forum has not only established an efficient platform for university-enterprise exchanges, but also built consensus among C9 League universities on the digital and intelligent transformation of teaching reform and future development priorities. By deepening inter-university and university-enterprise collaboration, the forum will effectively drive the digital transformation of postgraduate English education, injecting strong and sustained momentum into the high-quality development of higher education in China.
