SFS warmly welcomed its new cohort of students through a series of well-organized orientation activities. Undergraduate orientation took place on August 21-22 at Xingqing Campus and graduate orientation was held from September 3 to 5 at iHarbour.

SFS's leadership, including Deputy Party Secretary Xu Ming and Vice Dean Li Ying, led faculty members and student volunteers in assisting new students throughout the registration process. They provided one-stop registration services for new students and offered them a welcoming, home-like experience. During the subsequent orientation, faculty and administrative staff visited student dormitories. They talked with new students and their parents about their journey to campus, potential challenges students may face in adapting to university life, and the school's academic expectations. Students were reminded that class advisors and counselors are always available to provide guidance and support.
At iHarbour, XJTU President Zhang Liqun, Vice President Hong Jun, and Deputy Party Secretary Wang Huan visited the SFS welcome booths and expressed their gratitude to the staff and volunteers for their hard work. SFS Dean Chen Xiangjing introduced the orientation preparations, student enrollment, and the school's talent development programs. President Zhang Liqun highlighted SFS's achievements in language research and recognized its efforts in cultivating high-quality language professionals.

This year, SFS welcomed 98 undergraduate and 96 postgraduate students. Following orientation, undergraduates will participate in military training, major allocation, and elective activities. Postgraduate students will begin coursework and research practice at iHarbour.
