From 27 to 30 June, 2025, forty-two students from the English major (Language Data Science track) completed a four-day cognitive internship at the iFLYTEK Silk Road Headquarters in Shaanxi.

On the first day, guided by a company instructor, students were introduced to the development of intelligent speech technologies and observed human-AI collaboration models. They experienced AI simultaneous interpreting systems and observed applications of speech-synthesis technologies in multiple languages and domains, followed by a discussion on the role of language intelligence in cross-cultural communication.

From June 28 onward, under the guidance of another instructor, the students took part in a project-management practicum. Working in groups, they evaluated three translation-device products. The research process involved defining research topics, data collection, method selection, data sorting and analysis, as well as written reports and oral presentations. Drawing on their background in language-data studies, the teams compared the devices’ noise-interference performance by using different methods including analyzing user-feedback data, field tests and interviews, and experimental approaches. All groups successfully completed the project and presented their findings.

The internship concluded with a lecture on the application of artificial intelligence in project management, where the instructor outlined the career prospects in language-data field. The program strengthened students’ understanding of their major and highlighted new pathways for university-industry collaboration in cultivating language-data talent.
