XJTU successfully held its 3rd English Speech Contest themed "Great Country, Great Industry" on June 6, 2025. The contest was hosted by the College English Teaching Center and the Basic & Advanced College English Teaching Section of the SFS, and co-organized by the English Speech, Debate, and International Talent English Teaching Teams. After intense competition, 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 8 third prizes were granted to outstanding contestants.

Continuing with the theme "Great Country, Great Industry", this contest encouraged students to explore the development of China's pillar industries in English. Nearly 40 high-quality video entries were received in the preliminary round, covering topics ranging from manufacturing and logistics to renewable energy and modern agriculture. Following a rigorous review, 14 contestants advanced to the finals.

In the final found, contestants delivered impressive impromptu speeches and aced the Q&A session, demonstrating strong language proficiency and critical thinking skills. Their topics spanned diverse areas including agricultural automation, electric vehicle brand strategies, and the Belt and Road Initiative's role in global governance, aligning with China's economic transformation drive and educational development goals.

The contest has effectively fostered critical thinking, sense of social responsibility, and global perspective, equipping students with solid foundations for future international exchanges and engagements.
