SFS Holds Symposium on China-Central Asia Sci-Tech Cooperation and Cultural Ecology Research

On the morning of January 14, 2026, SFS hosted the Symposium on China-Central Asia Sci-Tech Cooperation and Cultural Ecology Research. Chen Xiangjing, Dean of SFS, Professor Wang Hua, Professor Zhang Chang'an, together with other faculty representatives, attended the event.



Chen Xiangjing pointed out that in recent years, SFS has pursued innovation in teaching and research, achieving fruitful results. She stressed that SFS's core competitiveness lies in translating solid language capabilities into expertise in international and regional analysis and policy research. Going forward, SFS will further strengthen interdisciplinary development to serve national strategies, enhance intra-university coordination, and conduct substantive cooperation so as to bolster its disciplinary strengths and social influence.

Professor Zhang Chang'an shared his insights into deepening China-Central Asia sci-tech cooperation at both national and university levels, and underscored the importance of following the national overall development strategy and participating in global governance through high-level international cooperation. He outlined nine key research areas, including the joint development of a sci-tech database and the establishment of cooperation platforms. He also emphasized that research on Central Asia should adopt a holistic regional perspective combined with in-depth country-specific analysis.

Wang Hua and Li Wanchun respectively delivered speeches onChina-Central Asia Sci-Tech Cooperation and China-Central Asia Cultural Ecology Assessment, and shared their thoughts on the development of young research teams at SFS.

In closing, a call was issued to all faculty members to closely align their research with national development needs. It urged all to collaborate closely and leverage their strengths in language and regional studies to support XJTU's cooperation with Central Asian countries.
