This April, XJTU ushered in its 130th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of its Westward Relocation. A series of high-profile international events were held, throughout which SFS continuously delivered high-quality language support and volunteer services.
Regarding the language services during the anniversary as a crucial mission to carry forward the Westward Relocation Spirit and demonstrate XJTU's global influence, SFS established a special team to guarantee the service quality.
XJTU Center for Translation and Interpreting (XJTUCTI) undertook key translation and interpreting tasks for the anniversary series of events. Leveraging the Terminology Handbook for International Communication of Xi'an Jiaotong University—developed by the XJTUCTI team based on the Transn Cloud platform—the team guaranteed terminology consistency and delivered precise translations for over 70 major documents and projects. The deliverables included keynote speeches, official correspondence, exhibition materials, and core promotional works, such as the anniversary video A Path Spanning130 Years, an 8-page special feature 130 Years of Progress published by China Daily, and the historical anthology The Whisper of Age: Selected Historical and Cultural Legacies of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
In addition to textual translation, SFS assembled a dedicated volunteer team comprising more than 100 multilingual undergraduates and nearly 20 candidates from the Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) program. The volunteers delivered professional conference and escort interpreting for university presidents and delegates from 46 universities and research institutions across 22 countries and regions. Their high-standard service won wide acclaim from international guests who participated in XJTU's two flagship international events: the Conference on the High-Quality Development of World-Class Universities with Chinese Characteristics and the World-Class University Presidents Forum & Expo.

The professional, high-quality services delivered by the SFS team earned widespread praise from all international attendees. Professor Mohamed Farahat Fouda Aly Fouda, representing Egypt's Benha University, expressed sincere gratitude to the volunteers and shared his eagerness to revisit XJTU in the future. Representatives from the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia also extended heartfelt thanks for the students' professional competence and thoughtful on-site support throughout the expo.
